A quick word about taking your dog abroad.

These days, taking your pet abroad is much easier, thanks to the introduction of the Pet Travel Scheme (PETS).  As this is a relatively new ruling, the conditions change fairly frequently so you need to find out form the relevant government department which vaccinations, ID requirements and parasite treatments are needed for your pet in order to leave and re-enter your country.  Make sure you have the appropriate documentation, that your pet has been vaccinated and parasite-treated within specified times, and that he has the approved ID microchip, to avoid confusion when entering and leaving countries.
