With this innovative, portable system, there are no wires to bury. Just plug the transmitter into an electrical outlet close to the area where you want to contain your pet. The transmitter communicates with your dog’s receiver collar and helps keep him in the area you’ve designated for him. The system is portable, so you can bring it along with you! An unlimited number of pets can be added to the system as long as they wear a PIF-275 Receiver Collar.

Due to the size of the receiver for this system, we recommend your dog weigh at least 10 pounds. If your dog is smaller than this, one of our underground systems would be a better choice.

Please note: This unit is most effective when used on level property with few structural obstacles.  If your property is hilly, sloping and/or contains close surrounding buildings (other than your house) you will want to look at the in-ground wire fence systems.  If you have any questions or would like to discuss your options regarding an electric dog fence do not hesitate to contact us.        

How the Instant Fence works

Instant Fence is a revolutionary concept that provides the safest, simplest form of pet containment ever. Plug in the transmitter some where inconspicuously in your home. The transmitter emits a 17.5kHz radio signal around your home.. Your pet wears a lightweight receiver collar which "listens" for the signal. While the collar is receiving the signal, your dog is free to run and play in your yard. When he approaches the boundary of the signal area, he receives a warning beep. If your dog does not return, he receives a static correction which is startling but not harmful. With a little simple training, your dog will quickly learn his boundaries.

Setting up your Instant Fence takes just a few minutes. The transmitter plugs into any standard 110 volt outlet. Since the signal will transmit reliably through walls and other obstructions, it can be placed in any convenient and discreet location, typically in the garage or a closet. Once you have set up the Instant Fence, you can now adjust the range that is appropriate for your dog and your yard.

Training your dog is quick and easy, just follow the training instructions included with your Instant Fence. Once you have adjusted the signal to the perimeter you want, mark the boundary by placing the training flags at the edge of the signal. Every Instant Fence comes with the transmitter, one receiver, 50 boundary flags for training your pet and a manual that explains installation and training. You can contain an unlimited number of pets on Instant Fence by purchasing additional receivers.

We do not recommend the Instant Fence for dogs under 10 pounds.  In addition, we do not recommend the Instant Fence for dogs that are stubborn or hard to train or that have thick fur.  The receiver may not have a strong enough correction for these types of dogs.  In this case, you should get one of  our Underground Dog Fences.

The signal field can be adjusted anywhere from a 30 to 180 foot diameter from the transmitter. The shape of the signal is in a perfect circle and the shape cannot be changed. The range of the Instant Fence can be increased by using two or more transmitters.  This creates multiple intersecting circles, two transmitters would create a boundary in a shape similar to the MasterCard™ logo. The signal is cancelled where the circles intersect, allowing the pet access to the entire area. The transmitters can be located a maximum of 150 feet apart and each transmitter must be out of the weather, they cannot get wet. An additional transmitter would create a boundary that is up to 180 feet wide and up to 330 feet long.
